Huts, Hammocks n’at

There was a time, not so long ago, where my dream was to live in a re-purposed warehouse; something massively industrial and inorganic located in a grungy section of a big city.  Tall exposed metal beams and pillars, an endless expanse of cement floors and furnished in extremely minimal, sparse furniture.  I still kind of do.  It would be a sweet fucking pad, to be sure.  But not so much anymore.  I don’t know what changed.  Maybe it’s because I’m living in a city that doesn’t really inspire or ignite my love for urban life.  Dubai doesn’t do it for me in that way.  It just makes me desperate for a more plant-filled and chilled out lifestyle.

Now I just want to live in a little hut or bungalow.  Surrounded by lush plant life and green (preferably tropical) landscapes.  With a nice porch or patio, complete with hammock.  And an outdoor shower.  And no aircon, but plenty of ceiling fans.  Filled with colorful, comfortable things.  Also lots of mosquito nets for both practical and aesthetic reasons.  Can’t forget the BBQ. I want a llama to be there, too.  I don’t know what I’d do for a living in a place like this, but whatever, I don’t think it would matter.

Most of the below is actually considerably fancier than I had in mind, but you know what?  If it’s on offer, I suppose I’ll take it.
