Happy weekend! Enjoy some Costa Rican critters. Spoiler alert: no sloths. They are much harder to find (especially in the dense, wild jungle I was usually in) than the marketing/tourism board would have you believe! But I’m not complaining, there was always plenty to marvel at.
My final stop in #CostaRica was the #Caribbean coast. #PuertoViejo, a jungle-backed beach town filled with backpackers, laid-back expats and stylish sun-worshippers. I joined the latter category at Hotel Aguas Claras, a plush beachside hotel in a refurbished Victorian mansion filled with decor by the multimedia-artist owner and imbued with a retro-Havana or Palm Springs vibe. Scroll through for a taste of the digs — I’ve included a peek at my tropical dream home, one of the hotel’s villas, on the last slide.
As #Ramadan wraps up and #Eid al-Fitr is about to be called, I’m keenly missing my adopted #UAE home and everyone in it. #EidMubarak!
Scenes from jungle walks. There’s nowhere I’d rather be.
